Student Organizations
Honors College Advisory Council
The Honors College Advisory Council, or HCAC, is the student organization of the Honors Tutorial College and provides students the opportunities to have their voices heard in College-related matters, volunteer within the College and the Athens community and participate in many fun social events. If you're interested in socializing, giving back to the community, promoting diversity or taking part in decision-making within the HTC, then HCAC is where you belong!
In the past year HCAC has:
- organized a Habitat for Humanity volunteer weekend for all HTC students.
- held a movie night, a game night and numerous social events.
- camped at Stroud's Run State Park.
- provided students' input to the HTC Alumni Board of Visitors.
- been acknowledged university-wide in the Giving Gavel project.
- collaborated with Dean Fidler and Assistant Dean Hodson on HTC initiatives.
HCAC's future plans are to:
- coordinate a weekend trip with HTC alumni.
- organize a benefit concert.
- continue to volunteer in the surrounding community.
- host even more HCAC, HTC and university-wide social activities.
HCAC is composed of four different collaborative committees. HCAC members can choose to serve on the committee that most interests them.
- College and Alumni Relations Committee
- provides student feedback to HTC administration.
- works to maintain a relationship with HTC alumni.
- Diversity and Philanthropy Committee
- works to provide opportunities for HTC students to experience diversity and to better their community.
- Activities Committee
- plans events with the sole aim of socializing and having fun!
- Fundraising
Committee
- creates fun and effective projects in order to fund the social and philanthropic goals of HCAC.
