Welcome Class of 2014

The Honors Tutorial College is welcoming a record number of freshmen into the college this fall: the Class of 2014 has 68 members. The recruitment process began with about 310 applicants in December, and Directors of Studies interviewed about 200 prospective students in January. The college admitted about 110 potential freshmen in February.

Although this class is larger than previous ones, our incoming freshmen continue to excel academically. Their average ACT scores are above 31, and their average SAT scores are over 1350. This class is also slightly more diverse than previous ones: 1.5% are African American, 6% are Hispanic, and 3% are Asian American. Ninety-four percent of the freshmen are from the State of Ohio. Forty-four percent are male (slightly higher than recent years), and fifty-six percent are female.

Freshmen will attend pre-college orientation on June 17-18. Welcome weekend orientation will take place on Sunday, September 5, and our annual introduction ceremony will take place in Galbreath Chapel on Monday, September 6.
