Colleen McGinn
Political Science |  Class of 1996

Colleen was featured in a Dec. 31st New York Times article for her role in the restoration of areas in Sri Lanka that were affected by the Dec. 26 tsunami. She has an incredible biography of extensive travels to many countries, and an impressive resume` of work with numerous human rights organizations around the world.

Colleen's most recent notable travels have been with her work with Oxfam, a relief organization based in Melbourne, Australia, that helped coordinate the tsunami relief effort in Sri Lanka. Tsunami relief was the first natural disaster relief effort she had ever participated in, because most of her other work has been in areas of violent conflict, like Afghanistan. The kind of complete devastation that resulted from the tsunami was new to her. Click here to read Colleen's story.
